Buildings

A number of interesting buildings have existed on Clarence St. between King St. and Dundas St. over the years. Few of the buildings from the 1880s still exist. A number of buildings in the area were torn down to make way for parking lots. On other plots the buildings have been torn down and new ones built or a large amount of construct work has been done, which has made the original parts of the building unrecognizable.

The next two sub pages provided detailed histories of two buildings on Clarence St. There is Featherbone Place, 387 Clarence St., which is really the only building that is still similar to how it was originally built. Some construction was done on the building in the 1970s but the main structure has stayed the same. Continue to the page for Featherbone Place to find out more about the building, see images of it and a timeline, which presents all the businesses that have operated out of it since it was built. The other building is Victoria Hall, which has been listed at 394 or 396 Clarence St. over the years. The building has a lot of history because of the amount of businesses that have operated out of it. The page provides images, interesting quotes and listings of the businesses that have operated out of the building since 1881.
